Hi! My name's Rosamund (or sometimes Rose). I grew up in various places around East Anglia, and I now live in Berlin, Germany, a couple of blocks away from the water.

I started this blog in 2012 while living in Leicester, studying French & German at university (hence the French name, which means "Rose elsewhere"), rounding off a youth spent tinkering with MSN Spaces, LiveJournal, and Tumblr. I had a brief stint in Quebec before moving to Berlin permanently.

Alongside my part-time job as a content & QA manager at a web agency, I work on a freelance basis as a translator (German into English) and writer (English). You can read some of my recent published writing here; selected outlets include The Guardian, The Local, and Ravishly, as well as the Hostelworld and UK Vegan Society blogs. When I'm not sick of looking at screens, I am also editing my first novel.

What can you expect from this blog? Short personal essays, opinions on music and books, photo posts if I ever travel somewhere... just click the tags on the side, have an explore. Right now I'm aiming to write more about Berlin in an attempt to be a bit more mindful in my relationship with this city, so keep an eye out for that.

I am a Joanna Newsom and Sufjan Stevens stan with an emo/punk heart. I like peanut butter, bad movies (The Room, Showgirls, pretty much anything starring Nicolas Cage), and grey marl clothing. Sometimes I go to pub quizzes (despite being a sore loser #Taurus). I collect nice stationery and compile German idioms in notebooks. I take my Last.fm and Goodreads accounts a bit too seriously. I'm editing the first draft of my novel manuscript, I have various haberdashery projects on the go, and I'm learning to program in Python.

This should go without saying, but please don't publish any of my photographs and pretend they're yours. If you absolutely have to use them, ask first and credit me! Stealing them is bad form! Thanks.
